Servizio assistenza clienti incredibilmente veloce e disponibile.

Good to know

Description

The clementines of Etna are an authentic Sicilian citrus fruit, known for their sweetness and fragrance. Grown on fertile volcanic soil, oranges and clementines here grow in a unique environment, where the mild climate and the altitude give an intense aroma and a balanced taste.

Etna Citrus, in particular, also known as the Etna mandarin, is the result of a cross between a Satsuma variety (a Japanese mandarin originally introduced to Europe in 1876) and clementine oranges. Every fruit, picked by hand, has a thin skin and juicy flesh, with an intense fragrance and the typical aromas of the land.

Production takes place with no waxes or preservatives, in full respect of the seasons. The result is a genuine product, ideal for anyone looking for a natural, sustainable food, to enjoy fresh or in preserves and typical Sicilian desserts.

Nutritional information

Etna Citrus has a low calorie content (about 45 kcal/100 g) and is an excellent source of vitamin C, useful for the immune system. It contains potassium and fibre, which support digestion and contribute to the body’s water balance.

Thanks to the combination of sugars and natural acids, they are ideal as a light, natural snack. The volcanic origin of the soil gives Etna citrus fruit a higher mineral content than others, a bold taste and a long-lasting freshness.

In the kitchen

Etna Citrus is versatile in the kitchen: perfect fresh, for making orange and clementine marmalade or clementine marmalade with the peel.

Excellent in desserts too, such as clementine cake, or to add a citrus touch to salads of fennel, olives and white fish.
